Happy 1st Birthday, Alix

There is no way to anticipate the wonderful expressions of a happy baby on their first birthday. It’s best just to crawl with them and see the world from their view point.

This past Saturday was our Spring Mini-Sessions at Dee-O-Gee in Bozeman. The dogs and one cat who showed up for the sessions were full of personality and passion, especially the cat who wanted to kick some butt. Of course you can’t blame a cat for having an attitude among so many dogs. Here’s a few quick edits from the day’s shoots.

Happy to be Me

Nora came to our studio on Bozeman’s east end today for her 6 month session. What huge eyes and what even bigger eye lashes.

Summer Family

I like to photograph our family sessions the way our family would like to be photographed: casual, comfortable and happy being ourselves. We are like the contractor whose house is not done, we don’t have a family photo and that is a crime. This summer we are finally committed to getting our family photo finally taken and up on a wall.

One of our photographer friends offered to take our family photo. We get so busy as a family going in all directions but I am finally going to call her and we’re going to do it.

It’s going to be wonderful next winter to have a happy summer photo up on our home walls.

We are already booking summer sessions with families. If you would like your family photographed this summer (it’s a short season) give us a call soon to reserve your time.

Hey Class of 2011

Our photographer friend April in Atlanta sent us this Polyvore site today on facebook. We think it is totally cool with some great ideas for fashion.

You’ll be choosing a your senior photographer and clothing before you know it. Our sessions begin in July with a limited number of spaces available. We only photograph 50 seniors each year.

Check out the Polyvore siteto find a fashion statement that is you and then give us a call to schedule your senior fashion session with us soon.

Spring on Our Minds

Today it was raining, sleeting, snowing, sunny and breezy. But we had Spring on our minds when Nate and Bebe came by for a kid’s session.

Montana Photography Workshops

Yesterday I was playing around with the camera to start collecting images for July’s Montana Ranch Photographers Retreat being put on by Montana Photography Workshops. (Details for the Retreat should be posted in about 10 days). One of the models for the Retreat is this Bozeman cowboy.

We’ve been friends for a long time and his face gets more Western as the years go by. He’ll have one of his horses at the retreat and we’ll be able to use him for a 5 hour session of posed and unposed scenic and portrait images at the Montana Ranch Photographers Retreat.

I took this photo in three minutes of shooting, so I know the extended session with him as a model will be chalked full of some great photos for photographers attending the Retreat.
